The Diddy Laugh is a very commonly used sound effect which often appears in TV, radio and film. When I hear it, it is like being hit in the ears with an iron. I like to point it out to people, who usually look blankly at me. Now I pass this affliction on to you.

Diddy Laugh in LA Noire

I heard this while playing the game, and didn't have time to note down exactly where it occurred. Took me ages to find it again a few days later!

It happens in this video at about 24.35, quietly in the background.
It's not the usual "up and down" bit of the laugh, it's the less common opening section.

Diddy Laugh in Hot Fuzz

Wasn't expecting this one. It almost passed me by, too.

Listen for it just as the injured guy is being wheeled away.

Heard in Starcraft 2

It's not often you hear the laugh in a computer game. Well, not since the original Diddy Kong Racing, of course.

Here it plays in a cutscene from StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty.

Heard on Brother Label Printer advert

It's a very quick snatch, but it's undoubtedly the Diddy Laugh. There are longer versions of this advert in America, but the laugh only seems to appear on this edit:

 Watch it on TellyAds.com

(The laugh appears at the very start, and again at 20 seconds)

Heard in The Chernobyl Diaries

Subtle one, this. Good ears, Rob! This is not the usual "up and down" section of the laugh, but a rarer early part: Anyone know if it appears in the actual film?

Olympic Opening Ceremony

Yes! Our favourite over-used sound effect found its way into Britain's fantastic showcase:
